CONTENT / NGSS?

Discovering Life Science is not a science "program" that is aligned with any particular standards.

It is a complete, up-to-date textbook of basic content (and enrichment material).

It is also a resource book to support the teaching of outlining

With its very brief, concisely-written and heavily-illustrated lessons, most of Discovering Life Science is well-suited to self-teaching. I originally chose this book's forerunner in order to free up more class time for hands-on activities.

To facilitate the teaching of outlining, free handwritten "model" outlines of the book's 72 lessons are provided as pdf documents. (Please see the menu items TEACHING OUTLINING and CONTENTS).

To better serve highly motivated students, to the original book I added 3 lessons, 20 optional-reading opportunities, and an additional 15 end-of-unit enrichment suggestions (increasing these from 23 to 38).

Each lesson of the teacher's guide now has a section entitled Reinforcement / Enrichment. Here, I provide dozens of links to vetted videos - many for use with the entire class, others for students interested in delving deeper into the topic of a lesson. For many of the videos, specific portions are recommended.

I've elaborated on the above under the menu item ...
